Synthature = Synthetic + Nature
The following photographs represent moments where nature and mankind struggle for dominance in the modern world. Plants and soil "take back" what humankind have left behind. Or our man-made devices and desires for change damaged a natural environment.

The above represent digital photographs taken and altered by filtering, contrasting and sharpening or blurring aspects of the original color image using simple editing software. Aside from these simple changes, the images were not altered to convey anything other than what the human eye would see when looking upon the subject matter (meaning that no "photoshopping" was done to create an image that does not otherwise exist in the real world). In most cases, we attempted to simply take a color image and make it black and white.
We don't claim to be professional photographers. Photography is simply a hobby we enjoy by capturing what our eyes "forget" or take for granted. We feel the art of black and white photography is one of the most simplistic and beautiful visual mediums... One that is often overlooked or disregarded as archaic.
All photos in this ongoing serious were taken in central Ohio (USA) from 2004 through present.
